love

I absolutely love, love! It is such an amazing thing that as girls we can.... hmm... obsess if you will, over weddings. Ours is my favorite, obviously! And since no one else felt so inclined to blog about this very important day in history... I will!

Let me just start by saying we would have never been able to do this without everyone who generously donated their time, love and resources. Everyone had a role to play in making our day as special as it was and we will be forever thankful!!

Planning a wedding, had to be the most stressful, detailed, stretching yet most beautiful experience I have ever had. I am convinced it is this way because that is the exactly the way I would describe marriage. If you can plan a wedding it is a snapshot of what you will be experiencing for the next six plus months of your life. It is hard to dot all the i's and cross all the t's but in the end comes the incredible masterpiece! I need to remember (moment by moment) to enjoy the process of the masterpiece (our new life) in the making!

Brandon purposed in January and from the moment we agreed that it would be a simple and comfortable wedding with all the people there that we love. And that, my co-lovers of love, is the just what we got! A free venue (that I was nearly in tears over, at first--that turned out to be absolutlely breathtaking), an iPod for ceremony music, the cutest Navy Chaplin alive (B's Grandad), A Taco Bar to feed our guests, an open bar with all the yummy cocktails one could want and a cousin that was our DJ... this day indeed succeeded all the thoughts and plans we had on our basically out-of-pocket wedding budget.

A lot of the things we used for decor in our wedding were handmade (DIY) or borrowed. We started by collecting old bottles at estate sales and finding things with lace at thrift stores. Tweleve of the dashing ladies from the place where my parents live, donated their vintage lace tablecloths for reception linens. I handmade a sign that read "We Do", out of burlap and fabric paint, that hung in the trees behind us during our ceremony. There were lots of other additions like this thanks to all our dear friends that used their gifts of creativity to make our day so special and lovely.

[My Main Squeeze]

There were many years of prayers said in waiting for this man, often referred to as B on here. He has shown me like no one else, what it means to love selflessly and continues to show me what commitment truly means. When he commits to anything it's with his whole <3.

[Our Sign Girls + Flower Girl]

These little loves were just precious and added such sweetness to the ceremony. Three of them were from Brandon's side of the family (Our Niece Alana left corner; Julia standing behind Alana and Chloe far right  corner) and the other three were from the school where I teach (Mia & Gracie- in the middle; Emma sitting in the grass next to the left of Mia). As they walked down the isle they announced my coming "Here comes, the Bride, here she comes... Here comes the Bride!"

*Here Comes the BRIDE*

This incredible sign was made by our dear friend Tami. Her daughter is Gracie (who you just were introduced to) and they found the piece of wood on a hike their family was on. This was perfect because it really went with the "homemade wedding" feel we wanted to create.

Daddy Dearest
It meant so much to both Brandon and I, to have at least one of our dad's with us! In 2004 Brandon lost his Dad, Steve Trumbo, to colon cancer after a six year battle. My Dad has become a sort of father figure to Brandon and it means so much to me to see them click so well. My Dad is one of the most accepting, genuine (which is good and bad... lets just say he says what he feels ALL THE TIME) and most caring men I know. I am SO happy God has restored our family and caused me to love him so purely! (More on that some other time... ;))

More Pictures of us.....

Breathtaking moment captured!

More to come!
